How Back to the South Bling Gives Back to the Community

When you help someone else, you can't help but feel this surge of energy and excitement, wouldn't you agree?  It should be a surprise to us because helping someone else always feel so good!

Acts 20:35, says,

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

We're here to help one another.  I always say we should make sure we sparkle, but a part of that is to also make sure that others sparkle too!

The Safe Purple Collection

The Safe Purple Collection

Last year, I launched a collection called The Safe Purple Collection to raise awareness for domestic violence, of which I am a survivor.

Why the name Safe Purple?  Purple is the color that represents domestic violence and I chose the word safe because during that time in my life, safe was definitely something I did not feel.

The colors for this collection are white and purple and the collection is filled with glasses, tumblers, water bottles, and shirts with uplifting saying and words that you will only find in this collection.  From every purchase made, 25% of the collection will be donated to the non-profit that Back to the South Bling partners with, No Woman No Girl.

About No Woman No Girl

When I created The Safe Purple Collection, I searched for a nonprofit who was helping women in crisis. After speaking with a friend, she told me about No Woman No Girl.

I met with Shirnetta Hall, the Executive Director of No Woman No Girl and immediately fell in love with their mission and vision.

The vision of No Woman, No Girl is that no woman and no girl will go without access to everyday essentials to survive crisis or transition in Wake County, NC.

If you think about your morning, your routine I'm sure involves washing face, brushing your teeth, taking a shower, washing your hair.  My guess is that it's not something you ever think about, you just do it.  We're fortunate and blessed to not have to think about it.  If we run out, we just run to Target and replenish out stock.

For the women and girls that No Woman No Girl supports, they do not have the ease and access to these items as we do; these women and girls are in transition and/or crisis.

No Woman No Girl provides 15 everyday essentials, as shown on their website.

How You Can Join Back to the South Bling to Support No Woman No Girl

1. Purchase a product from The Safe Purple Collection.  25% of your purchase will help to provide a woman or girl with everyday essentials.  What does that look like?  When viewing the collection, the second image will share the impact you will make with your purchase.

For example, by purchasing this glass, your purchase will provide everyday essentials to one woman or girl for 30 days.  That's super impactful, don't you agree?

2.  Volunteer.  No Woman No Girl needs volunteers like you and I to help support them.  You can fill out the form to volunteer on the No Woman No Girl website and become an Agent of Change.

3. Donate items.  The next time you're out shopping, grab an extra item or two and take them to the No Woman No Girl dropbox located at Vision Church RDU located at 5808 Departure Drive Raleigh, NC 27616.  Donations are accepted daily from 10:00am - 4:00pm.

4. Host a drive at your job or in your community.  We can do more together than we can alone and that's why hosting a drive at your job or community is so impactful!  Learn how you can host your drive.
