ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Join me and the No Woman No Girl Initiative as we work together to promote awareness and resources for women and girls in crisis. As a survivor of domestic violence, this cause is very personal to me. Purple is the color representing domestic violence awareness and prevention and why it is the chosen color for this collection. The proceeds from The Safe Purple Collection will help women and girls in our community who are in crisis.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.*

THE NO WOMAN, NO GIRL INITIATIVE
The No Woman, No Girl Initiative's mission is to ensure that no woman and no girl will go without everyday essentials to survive crisis or transition. Their 3 Pillars of Support are hope, essentials, and education. The No Woman No Girl Initiative provides 911 Bags (30 Day Supply) and Sustainer Bags (90 Day Supply) through their agency partners only.
They provide 16 everyday essentials that focus on hair, dental, menstrual care, and body that can be found on their website.

Their Email Hotline provides legal information to anyone who reached out with legal questions regarding domestic violence, sexual violence.

Why The No Woman, No Girl Initiative
It's Not Just Business...It's Personal
As someone who has witnessed and experienced domestic violence, it is very important to me to help women in need in any way that I can.
You see, I had the nicest clothes and shoes, the fancy cars, and what people perceived as the perfect life, but behind closed doors, I lived in a very different world. The smile you see on my face now is because life is so very different and I am forever grateful to God, family, and friends because I know things could have turned out very differently for me.
There are friends and family members who have no idea what I've gone through, but it's time that changed. If we keep quiet, don't share our own story, and shy away from our own truth, how can we expect to help others?
For a very long time, I lived my life in survival mode because it was all I knew. Even today I still have days that I struggle, but I've been so very fortunate to have been blessed with a patient husband. It's not something that goes away or disappears, but you learn to not let it take over your life.
The No Woman No Girl Initiative does not limit their assistance to only those women and girls who are fleeing from domestic violence situations, but women and girls experiencing crisis or transition.
I was fortunate enough in my situation to have friends and family I could turn to for assistance and who helped to get me through those terrible times in my life, but unfortunately, not all women and girls have someone they can turn to.
Working with an organization that was local was important to me because I wanted to not only provide financial support but also my personal time.
